What are BCI Chapters?

BCI Chapters have been established in countries or regions where there is a large community of BCI members. The Chapters have locally elected officers who represent the BCI in their region.

Just launched – an international jobs board which will pull in continuity and resilience vacancies from around the world. Certified BCI members seeking a new role will have the opportunity to post their CVs/résumés with unique identifying logos so that recruiters can identify them easily as professional practitioners. Working closely with the BCI Central Office, it is our task:

  • To represent the needs and professional requirements of BCM professionals working in Canada
  • To be recognised as the premier influential organization for all aspects of Business Continuity in Canada
  • To raise the profile of BCI certification in the eyes of decision makers so that BCI certification becomes a de-facto requirement for business continuity practitioners in Canada
  • To help shape and influence the future direction and development of BCM in Canada, including all BCM related standards, legal, statutory and regulatory
    - For example the CSA-Z1600 standard on Emergency Management and Business Continuity, and;
    - To align standards and practices across Canadian Provinces
  • To develop local, strategic partnership relationships with other BCM related organizations
    - to ensure the continued global growth and influence of the BCM discipline across different industries and sectors
    - to increase the benefits of BCI Membership, including exclusive access to personal development, training and education opportunities as well as member discounts from partner organizations
  • To encourage new members into the Institute and to grow the BCI Canada Membership
  • To encourage new blood into the BCM industry and to promote BCM as a career choice
  • To promote the highest standards of professional and technical competency in BCM in Canada
  • To expand the knowledge base and thought leadership opportunities for BCM professionals working and living in Canada
  • To encourage the continued professional development of BCM professionals working and living in Canada through the provision of professional support and development activities
  • To facilitate and promote regional networking opportunities to enable BCM professionals working in Canada to come together to share good BCM practice, exchange ideas and build valuable relationships
    - Regional networking includes building relationships with similar organizations in Canada and nearby US Cities, particularly in the Prairie and Western Provinces where the nearest large city may be in the USA
